Butler Pendley majored in Interior Design at the University of Oklahoma
and Maryville College in St. Louis. She worked in the field of
Interior design for ten years before returning to school at Marian College
to receive a degree in Fine Arts. In the 1970's she was active in
the East Coast art market, participating and winning awards in shows from
Miami to Washington D.C. In the early 80's she returned to Oklahoma.
C. Butler Pendley is a very diverse artist in the
use of media and subject matter. Nationally known as a
watercolourist, she began to experiment with intaglio etchings ten years
ago and is now well known as a printmaker. Her art encompasses much
of the spirit that has been inspired by her extensive travels in America
as well as Europe and the South Pacific. Subject matter ranges from
historic Williamsburg

to
Victorian street scenes in Boston to inspired angels, bold floral and
fantasy birds and mesmerizing magical scenes from the southwest.
Pendley's images may be found in countless
public and private collections around the world. A partial listing
of some of the notable collectors: George Bush, Bill Clinton,
Richard Celeste, George Dukakis, John Sununnu, Frank Keating , David
Walters, Walter Cronkite, Sidney Poitier, Ed McMahon, Ginger Rogers, Betty
White, Chuck Norris. Look for her images in more than 700 galleries
internationally.
She now works from her studio in Edmond, Oklahoma,
The Angel House. The Angel House is located 3 miles west of I-35 and
1/2 mile north of the highway 77 exit in Edmond, Oklahoma.
